What is the Customer Type Manipulation function?
In this area, we can create customer types based on a mark up rate for a total order value cost.
Instead of using our standard markup rate function which adds a markup to a certain supplier range, you can now add/edit clients to be connected to a certain customer type which is based on a markup rate being applied to a total order value cost.
This means a much more accurate sell price on your website.
This is how an already filled out Customer Type Manipulation area looks like:
Firstly we need to have a DEFAULT markup Customer Type added, this is for all new customers and people browsing your website.
We give this the Customer Type "def"
Level: This is how the information is displayed in your table, its a numbering sort by position to keep your customer types neat and tidy if you have different ones.
Cost: Everything UP TO this total order cost for a single product qty with print will have the appropriate markup applied to it. Example: 25 x Caps with embroidery @ $15.00 each will = $225 + GST. This means this product line will use the Customer Type Level 1 for its markup, which is 1.87 on this example.
Markup: This is where you enter the markup rate, remember 50% mark up should be written at 1.5 etc 200% markup written as 2.0
Remove: This removes that particular customer type line.
Example
This the order value of this line item is $3140 + GST, it is based on Level 3 which is 1.62 Markup (62%)
Adding or Changing Customer Types for Clients
When you ADD a client, you will be asked to enter in the Customer Type, pick which ever suits.
When you EDIT a client, you can change the customer type in here.
You can have other Customer Types apart from DEF
Some clients like to have a sliding scale of markup rate based on how much the client spends with them.
This could be like having the following customer types
def: for default clients
TypeA: High spending clients, get a better rate
TypeB: Medium spending clients, get a good rate
TypeC: low spending clients, get a better rate than default
There are many ways to use the customer type manipulation, it all depends on your business and how you operate.
